Recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who may display traits of challenging behaviour.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure the student is supported academically, socially and emotionally throughout the school day.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities & Requirements:

* Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the needs of a Year 4 pupil with ASD

* Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour

* Support with emotional regulation, communication and social interaction

* Adapt learning activities to ensure accessibility and engagement

* Promote independence, positive behaviour and confidence

* Track and report progress, behaviour patterns and any concerns

* Maintain a safe, structured and supportive learning environment

* Experience supporting students 1:1 in a primary school setting

* Understanding of sensory needs and ASD friendly approaches

* Knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies

* Relevant training such as Team Teach ideal but not essential

* Teaching Assistant L2/L3, Care or SEND qualification
