SEN Teaching Assistant – Inspiring Opportunity in an Outstanding Hertfordshire School
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a truly rewarding role where you can make a lasting difference every day? We are delighted to be recruiting for an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated specialist secondary school in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, starting January 2026.
This full-time, term-time-only role (8:30am–3:30pm) offers an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and are supported by Hertfordshire Local Authority, ensuring a well-structured, well-resourced and nurturing learning environment.
The school is renowned for its vibrant and engaging curriculum, where communication sits at the very heart of learning. Staff work creatively with Makaton, symbols and signing vocabulary, alongside Speech and Language Therapists, to help pupils develop confidence, independence and a voice of their own. Pupils are highly motivated and benefit from a wide range of stimulating resources designed to meet individual needs.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide tailored classroom and one-to-one support to pupils with complex needs
• Support communication, learning and personal development
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff as part of a collaborative team
• Help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment
The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEN pupils (qualifications are preferred but not essential) and a genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs. Patience, empathy and enthusiasm are key.
In return, you’ll enjoy:
• Competitive daily pay (£90–£100 per day)
• A supportive leadership team that values staff wellbeing and development
• Excellent progression opportunities, including pathways into teaching
• The chance to work in a truly inspiring and forward-thinking school
If you’re ready to grow your career in a school that invests in both its pupils and its staff, we’d love to hear from you.
