Job Title: Qualified SEN Teacher Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Contract: Full-time / Long-term (Permanent opportunities available)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified SEN Teacher to work with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD, and complex needs. This role is based within a specialist or inclusive setting in the Sittingbourne area, supporting pupils to achieve both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
Support pupils with a range of additional needs in small groups or 1:1 settings
Implement effective behaviour management and positive intervention strategies
Track progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning outcomes
Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, support staff, and parents/carers
Maintain accurate records, reports, and assessments
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environmentRequirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN (school, PRU, or specialist setting)
Strong understanding of EHCPs and inclusive teaching strategies
Confident behaviour management skills
Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Desirable
Experience in SEMH, ASD, or complex needs settings
Team Teach, MAPA, or similar behaviour management training
Background in specialist schools, PRUs, or alternative provisionsWhat’s on Offer
