Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and empatheticin-person tutorsto work with secondary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Tutors will be required to deliverMaths and Englishand provide tailored support to pupils who may have experienced significant gaps in their education.

Our pupils come from a wide range of backgrounds, and many require a calm, patient approach to help rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning. This role is well suited to tutors who are adaptable, understanding, and committed to helping young people make meaningful progress.

Locations:
Tutoring will take place in person acrossDidcot, Banbury, and Bicester.

Pay:

  • £25£30 per hour, depending on experience and role requirements

The ideal tutor will:

  • Have previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational or related setting (e.g. tutoring, teaching, SEN support, teaching assistant roles, youth work)

  • Be confident deliveringsecondary-level Maths and English

  • Have experience working with SEN pupils, or a strong interest in doing so

  • Be patient, reliable, and able to adapt sessions to meet individual needs

  • Be comfortable supporting pupils from a wide variety of social and educational backgrounds

Hours & Commitment:

  • A minimum availability of10 hours per weekis required

  • Tutors seeking a fuller timetable would typically work with23 pupils

  • Consistency and professionalism are essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured, engaging, and personalised Maths and English sessions in person

  • Support pupils with gaps in learning and low confidence

  • Accuratelyrecord attendance and complete a lesson summary after each day

  • Build positive working relationships with pupils and maintain clear communication
