SEND Advisory Team Manager London Local Authoirty Interim 3 Month contract initially £460 per day Hybrid – 2 days on site per week
A Local Authority is seeking an experienced SEND Advisory Team Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting inclusive practice across mainstream education.
This senior leadership role is responsible for managing SEND Advisors and Specialist Teachers (including sensory support), ensuring high-quality early intervention for children and young people with SEND (0–25), and reducing reliance on statutory processes through strong SEN Support. You will lead service delivery aligned to the local SEND and Alternative Provision strategy, support schools to meet a wide range of needs, and work closely with families, health, social care and the voluntary sector.
Key responsibilities
Lead and manage a specialist SEND advisory service Support mainstream settings to develop inclusive practice Drive early intervention and prevention of escalation to statutory services Oversee SEND reviews, Inclusion Commitment and SEN Support pathways Manage staff performance, quality assurance and service improvement Use data to target support and monitor impact Manage budgets and resources effectively About you You will be a qualified teacher with significant experience in SEND and a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Children & Families Act 2014.
