SEND Cover Teacher

Location: Vauxhall, London Full Time | Permanent Salary: NJC Pay Scales £29,064 - £40,777 (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Cover Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Lambeth, supporting autistic children and young people with a range of learning needs. This role plays a vital part in ensuring continuity of learning by delivering and supervising planned lessons in the absence of the usual class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and supervise planned lessons in line with school policies

Maintain responsibility for classroom management, pupil wellbeing and safeguarding

Support a broad, balanced and personalised curriculum

Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress

Person Specification

Essential:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Knowledge of the National Curriculum (KS1-KS4)

Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEND

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion

Desirable:

Experience working in a special school or specialist setting

Recent SEND-related training
