Milk Education is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic SEND Student Support Assistant to join one of our partner SEND schools in Wallsend area of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

As a SEND Student Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support the learning and well-being of students, You will be expected to support children with moderate to severe learning difficulties, so experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential..

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting children with their learning, both in and out of the classroom
• Providing one-to-one or small-group support to students with additional needs
• Encouraging students’ confidence, independence, and engagement in school activities
• Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting students with their social and emotional well-being
• Assisting with classroom preparation and resources

• We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with children
  • Is patient, empathetic, and supportive
  • Has good communication and teamwork skills
  • Can adapt to different learning needs and situations
  • Has experience working with children in the last two years
  • Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent – desirable)
