Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Hailsham
Hours: 08:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Flexible – Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Roles

We partner with a wide range of schools across East Sussex, West Sussex, and Brighton & Hove, providing reliable and high-quality support staff. We are currently looking to appoint enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to support schools in Hailsham.

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We are recruiting motivated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of primary and specialist settings in Hailsham.

This role offers the opportunity to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets.

Flexible supply work allows you to broaden your experience across different settings, with opportunities for longer-term placements or permanent roles for the right candidates.

Key Duties

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Implement EHCP targets and follow individual support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing at all times.

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience desirable).
• Understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
• Patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Professional, flexible, and reliable attitude to work.
