SEND Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Autism Support

Aspire People are working in partnership with a highly supportive primary school in Salford who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism.

This is a long-term opportunity for a compassionate and patient individual who understands the importance of structure, routine, and consistent support in helping children thrive.

The Role:

Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with ASD

Supporting communication and social interaction development

Implementing sensory strategies and structured routines

Assisting with personalised learning tasks aligned to EHCP targets

Managing emotional regulation and behaviour positively

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents

The Ideal Candidate:

Recent experience supporting pupils with ASD in a school setting

Understanding of sensory needs and structured support strategies

Calm, nurturing and resilient approach

Team-Teach training desirable (not essential)

Strong communication skills and ability to build trust
