PK Education are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with autism spectrum disorder within a specialist resource provision attached to a mainstream secondary school in the Pontefract area.

This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils who access learning both within the specialist provision and mainstream classroom settings.

The Role

You will support secondary age students with Autism and additional learning needs, helping them engage with their education and develop independence.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students within the resource provision
Assisting pupils when integrating into mainstream lessons
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement
Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

Have experience working with SEND / Autism / SEMH
Are confident supporting secondary age students
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Have experience in education, youth work, coaching, care or support roles
Are passionate about helping young people succeed
