We’re working with a supportive SEMH school in Islington looking for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant who’s ready to make a real impact. This is a role for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and knows the power of patience, consistency, and showing up every day.

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
Helping de-escalate situations calmly and confidently
Building strong, trusting relationships with students
Supporting learning in small groups and 1:1
Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, structured environment

A calm, resilient personality, someone who doesn’t take things personally
Experience in SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, or similar settings is ideal
A genuine passion for supporting young people who need it most
Someone who can be firm, fair, and consistent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
