Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of multiple Mainstreem Secondary Schools within South Birmingham who are looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants on short term, long term and permaent basis'.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a big part in setting the foundations of each school you work in. Becoming a SEND TA is an excellent opportunity to make a big difference in a pupil’s education, to build upon your teaching support skills and to gain experience in a wide range of teaching methods, aids, and approaches.
Key Responsibilities in Secondary Schools:
In-Class Support: You will work within mainstream lessons to adapt materials, clarify instructions, and keep students with SEN (e.g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD) focused. Targeted Interventions: Delivering tailored programs outside the classroom, such as literacy support, social skills training, or numeracy catch-up. Behavioural and Emotional Support: Implementing regulation plans, assist with anxiety, and use de-escalation strategies, helping pupils manage their emotions and conduct.
