The roleThe PR Senior Account Director is responsible for establishing a strategic vision for both clients and internal teams. Deputising to the Head of PR and Communications and a key leader of the PR team, the PR Senior Account Director is a mentor to the PR team invested in the professional success and development of every team member, and the financial success and growth of all PR accounts.The PR Senior Account Director is responsible for ensuring the PR team meets and exceeds expectations. The position is also responsible for delivering innovative campaigns, personnel development and strong financial management to meet clients’ and Black Diamond’s goals. Strategic thinking, future-mapping and being solution-oriented is key to the role.The PR Senior Account Director is a part of the Black Diamond senior team, delivering ideas and input which contribute to wider business goals, championing the agency’s values and brand and representing Black Diamond within the industry.No day to day is the same at Black Diamond, but the role will involve: Leadership & Team DevelopmentMentor and develop the PR team, fostering a supportive, high-performing environmentManage and coach direct reports, supporting their growth through regular feedback and performance reviewsIdentify training needs and lead development sessions where appropriateEnsure internal processes run smoothly and introduce improvements where neededSupport the Head of PR with recruitment and team growthContribute to the senior PR leadership team and wider agency strategyRepresent Black Diamond at industry events, panels and media engagementsIdentify growth opportunities across client accountsChampion the agency’s values, reputation and brand in the industryServe as the senior strategic lead across accounts, providing creative and communications counselBuild strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholdersDevelop and guide communications strategies aligned to client business goals and measurable ROILead crisis communications when needed and proactively manage potential issuesIdentify partnership, media and brand collaboration opportunitiesOversee account budgets, reporting, performance and profitability Media & Industry EngagementMaintain strong relationships with key UK & Ireland travel and lifestyle mediaHost and meet with senior journalists to share client news and opportunitiesStay on top of the UK media landscape, trends and news agendaEncourage the team to build their networks and attend industry events Business DevelopmentSupport new business opportunities through networking, research and lead generationManage RFP responses and collaborate across teams to develop proposals Office & Working ArrangementsOffice days (full company) are Tues, Weds & Thurs. WFH days are Monday & Friday, but the office is always open for staff. Core office hours are 10am-5pm, with flexibility to work the additional hours as you wish between 8am - 7pm. We also offer flexibility for things like childcare. About youYou are a strategic PR leader who knows how to balance big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery. Comfortable leading complex campaigns, teams and client relationships, you bring strong judgement, professionalism and a calm, solutions-focused approach - particularly when working in fast-moving or high-pressure situations.A confident and supportive leader, you enjoy mentoring others and creating an environment where people can do their best work. You build trust quickly, communicate clearly and work collaboratively across teams and disciplines to deliver strong results for clients and the agency.You are highly organised with strong project and financial management skills, able to oversee multiple accounts, budgets and priorities while keeping standards high. Analytical and proactive by nature, you use insight, industry knowledge and data to guide decisions and identify opportunities for growth.You are also a trusted advisor to clients, able to offer strategic counsel, navigate challenges and lead crisis communications when required. With strong emotional intelligence and self-awareness, you approach relationships with professionalism, cultural awareness and integrity, representing both your clients and Black Diamond with credibility across the industry.Above all, you are adaptable, dependable and solutions-focused, bringing curiosity, initiative and sound judgement to everything you do.
