Role Summary:
The Senior AI/ML Consultant plays a pivotal role in defining and developing LCCC’s internal AI and machine learning capabilities. Focused on delivering practical, secure, and ethical solutions, the role will drive innovation that enhances operational efficiency and aligns with LCCC’s wider digital strategy.
Working directly with business teams, the Senior AI/ML Consultant identifies high-impact opportunities, shapes scalable AI and automation solutions, and leads cross-functional delivery. They own the full solution lifecycle - from problem definition and stakeholder engagement to product strategy, development, and adoption.
Acting as the central coordination point for automation and innovation initiatives, the role has oversight of a portfolio of internal digital tools. This is a senior individual contributor role accountable for setting clear goals, prioritising the roadmap, coordinating technical input, and ensuring alignment with organisational priorities. This includes overseeing discovery, guiding solution design, and championing best practices in responsible AI and user enablement.
Key Responsibilities
- Define product goals and strategy for internal AI/ML initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and LCCC’s digital strategy.
- Drive delivery across cross-functional technical teams to support incremental launches and continuous improvement.
- Lead discovery and validation of opportunities in collaboration with users and subject matter experts, quantifying expected impact.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and communication across the full solution lifecycle.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and reduce duplication across development teams to improve efficiency and collaboration.
- Champion the responsible and transparent use of AI across the organisation.
- Support AI literacy and digital capability - building across the business through learning events, best practice sharing, and hands-on guidance.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- A good first degree or higher in a relevant field such as business, data science, or engineering is essential or experience in an equivalent role.
- Proven experience in a similar product, digital delivery, or operational leadership role
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Visio, Camunda, Confluence, Figma, Jira and collaboration tools such as Miro.
- Agile or project management certifications (PO. Scrum Master, SAFe, etc.) are desirable.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience managing backlogs and sprints using tools such as Visio, Camunda, Confluence, Figma, Jira and collaboration tools such as Miro.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and build consensus across varying audiences.
- Ability to shape and deliver digital solutions from inception through to implementation, balancing value, scope, and delivery timelines.
- Confidence in leading discovery with business teams; gathering requirements and translating them into transparent and actionable delivery plans.
- Experience promoting adoption and capability-building across non-technical teams.
- Ability to balance scope, quality, and security, and ethical considerations to meet critical deadlines.
