Senior Android Engineer

£85,000 – £95,000 + bonus

London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in-office)

Company size: 200 (50 in tech/product)


SwitchTT are partnered with a highly successful, product-led consumer tech business within the travel-tech space, backed by Private Equity and operating at scale with millions of users globally. The company is profitable, growing, and continuing to invest heavily in its mobile platform as a core part of the customer experience. They’re now looking for a Senior Android Engineer to take technical ownership of their Android application and play a key role in shaping mobile architecture, standards, and delivery.


Senior Android Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Owning and evolving a core Android app used by a large global user base.
  • Designing, building, testing and shipping high-quality mobile features using modern Android technologies.
  • Working closely with Product and Engineering to turn requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Providing technical leadership, setting standards, and mentoring other engineers.
  • Tackling complex, ambiguous problems with a product-first mindset.
  • Contributing to agile ceremonies within a collaborative, high-performing team.


Tech environment

  • Android: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines
  • Backend exposure: Kotlin / Spring Boot
  • Cloud & Platform: AWS, Kubernetes, Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Strong engineering principles around availability, observability, security, testability and releasability
