Senior Associate – Competition Litigation | London

This is a role for a litigation lawyer who enjoys taking ownership of substantial cases and is comfortable operating within a structured, large-scale claimant environment.

The firm is a specialist disputes practice focused on collective redress and group litigation, acting exclusively for claimants across areas including competition, product liability, data breach and financial services . Within competition, the emphasis is primarily on business-led claims — often involving groups of corporates or SMEs pursuing redress in complex follow-on or standalone actions.

The Competition team is now looking to appoint a Senior Associate with some flexibility on location.The priority is finding someone who can take real responsibility within growing, procedurally demanding matters.

The Role

Working closely with partners and other senior lawyers, you will play a central role in progressing significant business competition claims. These are structured, document-heavy cases requiring careful coordination across legal and operational teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-quality drafting and strategic input across competition and collective proceedings;
• Leading and supervising teams of paralegals and other business professionals within a bulk claims environment;
• Preparing correspondence to opponents and clients, and reviewing documentation for submission to the Court or Tribunal;
• Managing substantial volumes of client and evidential data, and resolving associated issues as they arise;
• Overseeing case documentation and ensuring effective, structured case management across multiple workstreams; and
• Conducting legal research and responding to complex or novel client queries.

You

You will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with probably at least five years’ PQE of solid litigation experience. Competition experience — particularly in follow-on damages or standalone competition claims — would be helpful, but strong commercial litigation grounding will also be considered.

You are likely to be:

• Commercially aware and comfortable engaging with business clients and their strategic objectives;
• Analytical, organised and capable of managing detail across large datasets and coordinated claimant groups;
• Confident supervising junior lawyers and non-legal professionals;
• Self-motivated and comfortable working to deadlines across multiple parallel workstreams; and
• Practical and solution-focused when dealing with novel or evolving issues.

This will suit someone who enjoys responsibility, is comfortable in a process-driven environment, and is interested in building further experience in business-focused competition and collective litigation.
