Job Description

AJ Chambers are working with an internationally recognised top-tier law firm that is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing Employment team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and driven individual to further develop their expertise within a high performing employment law practice.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Handling day to day employment queries including disciplinaries and grievances, drafting contracts and policies, advising on flexible working, maternity rights, discrimination, and supporting on larger projects such as restructures and redundancies
  • Defending Employment Tribunal claims (e.g. unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, equal pay)
  • Advising on restrictive covenant disputes, team moves, and handling injunctions (obtaining, resisting, and enforcing), as well as claims involving misuse of confidential information
  • Providing employment law support on M&A, divestments, and outsourcing projects, including due diligence and TUPE matters
  • Advising on agency workers, zero-hours contracts, employment status, apprenticeships, and gig economy issues.
  • Supporting employers with international employee relocations, covering employment, immigration, and tax considerations.


Ideal Candidate:


  • 5–8 year's post-qualification experience within an Employment team
  • Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of employment law matters
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers (desirable)
  • A proactive, ambitious, and commercially minded approach
  • Experience acting for employer clients on both advisory and litigation matters
  • A team player with a strong desire to learn and support others
