Role Overview:

As a member of the Planning team, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing media plans that meet the objectives of our clients. Working alongside the Client Team, your role involves audio planning, negotiation, and campaign management, focusing on delivering results that align with client goals across linear airtime and digital audio, including podcasts and programmatic audio.

You will work on a collection of fast-paced portfolio of accounts, collaborating with a dedicated Client Services rep to ensure the strategic planning and delivery of campaigns, as well as maintaining strong client and media owner relationships.


We are looking for a team player with a 'can-do' attitude who is willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute wherever needed. You should be proactive in offering support to colleagues and demonstrate flexibility in your approach. We are a small close-knit team who value collaboration and not focused on hierarchy or job titles, but on delivering results as part of a cohesive team. Unlike a network/corporate agency, there is no red tape stopping you from fast tracking your knowledge and exposure to parts of the industry that you excel in and are interested in.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Audio Planning & Buying: Develop and implement strategic media plans for clients, focusing on radio and digital audio platforms, ensuring optimal use of media budgets.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee the execution of media campaigns, from initial briefing, campaign optimisation to final evaluation, ensuring that KPIs are met.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate media buys with media owners to ensure the best value and performance for the client.
  • Commercial Accountability: Planning to different rates and margins across multiple clients and working on audited clients.   
  • CRM Management: Updating the CRM with new opportunities, converting to bookings and attaching all relevant details and documents.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Provide post-campaign analysis and regular performance reports, making recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Client Liaison: Working alongside the Client Team to maintain strong relationships with clients, providing updates, insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with finance and operations team to ensure all relevant processes are being followed and bookings are invoiced on time and correctly.
  • Maple Street Creative: Maintain close relationship with our in-house production team Maple Street Creative to understand their offering and when a client brief may benefit from MSC’s services.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on media trends and competitive landscape, ensuring our media strategies are innovative and effective.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Media Planning & Buying: Experience in media planning and buying, with at least some focus on radio and digital audio channels.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to manage campaigns with precision.
  • Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate media buys effectively, ensuring maximum value for clients.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience of working on audited clients and adhering to varying rates and margins specific to different clients.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams confidently.
  • Time Management: Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with various departments.
  • Analytical Thinking: Numerate with an analytical approach to media planning and performance evaluation.


Desired Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a audio planning or buying role (radio planning and buying experience specifically).
  • A radio planner buyer with experience in the media planner tools TELMAR, J-ET and RALF.
  • Or a candidate working at an audio media owner, with experience in planning and booking radio campaigns, working with network agencies on audited accounts.
  • Familiarity with the UK radio market and digital audio platforms.
  • Strong passion for advertising and a drive to stay ahead of industry trends.


Work Environment:

  • Based in the London office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Working hours are 9:00 am – 5:30 pm with a one-hour lunch break. RadioWorks Group offers a Friday early-finish benefit, where employees may log off at 4:00pm provided that all urgent work for the day has been completed. The office is open five days a week if you prefer not to work from home.
