We’re Hiring: Senior Handbag & SLG Designer (Freelance, Project-Based, Part-Time) | London – Camden Studio

Fable England is looking for an experienced Senior Handbag & Small Leather Goods Designer to join us on a freelance, project basis to design bags & SLG's for seasonal capsule collection.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a designer with strong commercial expertise, excellent technical knowledge, and a passion for beautiful, storytelling-led product.

Location: London-based, with the ability to work from our Camden creative studio 1–2 days per week during key stages of the project.

What You'll Do:

• Design a cohesive capsule of handbags and SLGs aligned with seasonal creative direction

• Produce detailed CADs and tech packs for development

• Select materials, trims, and hardware with commercial awareness

• Liaise with factories on sampling and product refinement

• Balance creativity with cost/margin targets

• Contribute to range planning and calendar tracking

We’re Looking For:

• 7+ years of experience designing handbags and SLGs

• A strong portfolio showing commercially successful designs

• Solid technical understanding of construction and materials

• Fluent in Adobe Illustrator and bag/accessory CADs

• Comfortable preparing BOMs and working directly with suppliers

• Self-motivated, efficient, and collaborative
