Senior Bookkeeper
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their fast-growing Accounting Practice in Greater Manchester . Based at our Manchester Head Office, the role is office-based and is conveniently located within walking distance of Metrolink, train, and bus links.
The Role
Support the management and development of a team, including trainees
Plan and manage client compliance work
Prepare accounts, VAT returns, and related submissions
Manage workflows, deadlines, and work allocation
Liaise with HMRC and other external bodies
Handle client queries and attend client meetings
Report to Senior Managers and contribute to team meetings
About You
AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified
Minimum 2 years experience in an accounting practice (essential)
Strong experience in bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and accounts preparation
Confident managing multiple clients and deadlines
Experience supervising or mentoring team members
Systems & Skills
Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, DEXT, Sage Cloud Accounting
Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Email)
Excellent communication skills and confidence with clients
