Senior Building Surveyor

Location: High Street, PO12 1EB

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 6+ Months 37 hours per week

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00

Pay Rate: £ 31.30 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities

Conduct detailed building surveys and inspections across council properties.

Prepare accurate reports, including recommendations for maintenance, repairs, and improvements.

Provide expert advice on building regulations, compliance, and health and safety standards.

Manage projects from inception to completion, coordinating contractors and stakeholders.

Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and complies with council policies.

Support strategic planning for building maintenance and refurbishment programmes.

Person Specification

Must-Have Requirements

Proven experience as a building surveyor or in a similar surveying/engineering role.

Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and health and safety legislation.

Excellent report writing, communication, and organisational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

UK eligibility to work, with verified documentation.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS).

Experience in local government or public sector building projects.

Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency standards.
