Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor

Location: Manchester

Salary: £45,000–£60,000 (dependent on MRICS qualification) + excellent benefits

The Opportunity

A global consultancy in the built-environment sector is expanding its Manchester team and is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to support a growing pipeline of work. You’ll deliver a blend of professional and project-based surveying services across education, healthcare and local government properties, all within a culture that genuinely prioritises people, wellbeing and long-term growth.

The team delivers across a wide range of services; design & specification, clerk of works, contract administration, building surveys and dilapidations. Due to a high volume of survey and project work across local government and higher education estates they are expanding !

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out building surveys, inspections, condition assessments and technical reports
  • Prepare specifications, design information and contract documentation
  • Lead contract administration and monitor construction progress
  • Support project delivery from feasibility through to completion
  • Build strong client relationships and represent the consultancy professionally
  • Share knowledge within the team and support junior colleagues


What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent)
  • MRICS preferred, MCIOB also considered (or actively working toward chartership).
  • Strong technical understanding of building pathology and construction processes
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in client-facing environments
  • Experience with AutoCAD, NBS and standard industry software beneficial
  • A proactive, organised and collaborative approach
