Senior Building Surveyor - Client-Side / Consultancy Experience

I'm working with a growing and forward-thinking construction consultancy based in Oxford that is looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to join their expanding team.

The Opportunity

You'll be joining a collaborative and close-knit team in Oxford, working alongside Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and fellow Building Surveyors. The business combines the support and structure of a well-established consultancy with the flexibility and influence of a growing office.

Projects are varied and high-profile, spanning sectors such as:

• Commercial
• Residential
• Education
• Healthcare
• Heritage
• Public & private sector developments

You won't be siloed - variety and exposure are a key part of this role.

What They're Looking For

I'm keen to speak with individuals who bring strong consultancy experience and a proactive, client-facing approach. You'll ideally be:

• MRICS qualified (or actively working towards it)
• Experienced in delivering projects within a consultancy environment
• Confident managing client relationships and project delivery
• Ambitious and motivated to progress your career

Key Responsibilities

• Leading site inspections, identifying defects, and advising on solutions
• Producing detailed reports with clear, actionable recommendations
• Managing and delivering projects across multiple sectors
• Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with building regulations and H&S standards
• Maintaining high-quality documentation and professional standards

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
• Commercial awareness with a client-focused mindset
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Clear and confident communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency with surveying tools, CAD, and relevant software
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Additional experience in sustainability and building performance would be beneficial but is not essential.
