Senior Business Development Executive – Employment, Pensions & Incentives (EPI) and Disputes (12‑month FTC)


A leading international law firm is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Senior Business Development Executive to join its dynamic Business Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across two high‑profile practice groups—Employment, Pensions & Incentives (EPI) and Disputes—supporting partners and associates in London while collaborating with colleagues across EMEA, the US, Asia and Australia.


The Opportunity

This broad and varied role sits at the heart of the firm’s client development efforts. You will work closely with senior BD managers, partners and associates to drive strategic initiatives, support client pursuits, manage campaigns, and deliver high‑quality BD outputs. The position also involves close collaboration with the firm’s clients & markets team and other business services functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building - Build trusted relationships with partners, fee‑earners, PSLs and BD colleagues to effectively support and connect the practice groups.
  • Strategy & Planning - Support delivery of practice business plans, coach associates on BD activity, monitor market trends and help drive progress on client and business initiatives.
  • Pitches, Proposals & Tenders - Lead drafting and coordination of pitch responses, maintain precedents and collaborate with design teams to produce high‑quality materials.
  • Client Focus - Deliver client engagement initiatives, support cross‑selling, maintain marketing collateral and produce client, market and competitor insights.
  • Profile Raising - Support PR, thought leadership, social media activity, directory submissions and event delivery to enhance practice visibility.
  • Information Management - Maintain credentials, intranet/website content, mailing lists and core BD information while improving processes and ensuring strong ROI.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Around 3–4 years’ BD experience in a partnership or corporate environment (flexible for strong candidates).
  • Experience in EPI or Disputes, or within a law firm partnership, is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of EPI‑related issues and topics is desirable.
  • Strong skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with systems such as Foundation, Qorus, Vuture Vx and InterAction is beneficial but not essential.
