The Role

As Senior Buyer, you will shape and deliver the Buying and Category Strategy for chilled food, ensuring a profitable and competitive range. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and launching a compelling category range across branded and own-label products.
• Identifying and onboarding new suppliers while strengthening relationships with existing partners.
• Negotiating optimum cost prices, with a particular focus on major brands in the chilled food space.
• Managing price files and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Driving in-season promotional activity to maximise sales, margin, and supplier income.

The Person

We’re looking for a proven Buyer/Trader with experience in the Retail or Wholesale food sector. You will bring:

• A track record of managing a category end-to-end, delivering both sales and profitability.
• Strong supplier relationship skills, enabling you to implement strategy effectively.
• Commercial acumen and negotiation expertise, with the ability to secure competitive terms.
• Innovative thinking to stay ahead of competitors while keeping customer needs at the forefront.
