Permanent | Full-Time ?? £50,000 £60,000 per annum + package (DOE)We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established consultancy and project delivery business within the construction and built environment sector, seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their Manchester-based team.This is a key role supporting the procurement of materials, subcontract packages, and specialist services across a portfolio of high-value projects.The Company (Client Overview)Our client operates across the construction, infrastructure, and property sectors, delivering professional services on complex projects throughout the UK. Their work includes commercial developments, public-sector schemes, and technically challenging refurbishment and regeneration projects. They are recognised for strong supplier relationships, robust governance, and a collaborative approach to project delivery.The RoleAs Senior Buyer, you will take responsibility for managing procurement activities from pre-contract through to delivery, ensuring value, compliance, and timely supply across multiple projects.Key responsibilities will include:Leading procurement strategies for materials, plant, and subcontract packagesManaging supplier and subcontractor relationships, negotiations, and performancePreparing and issuing tender enquiries and analysing returnsEnsuring procurement activities align with project budgets and programmesWorking closely with commercial, project, and site teamsMonitoring market trends, pricing, and supply-chain risksSupporting and mentoring junior procurement team membersAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will likely have:Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or Buyer within construction or related sectorsStrong knowledge of procurement processes, contracts, and supply-chain managementExperience working on commercial, infrastructure, or public-sector projectsExcellent negotiation and stakeholder management skillsA proactive, commercially astute approachRelevant qualifications (CIPS or similar) desirable but not essentialWhats on OfferSalary of £50,000 £60,000 depending on experienceCompetitive benefits packageLong-term project pipeline and job securityOpportunity to influence procurement strategy at senior levelManchester-based role with exposure to major regional projectsApplyThis position is being handled confidentially by a recruitment partner on behalf of the client.
