Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for a hands‑on role with real impact? We’re seeking a Senior Buyer to lead supplier management and operational purchasing for a growing aerospace programme. This position focuses on strengthening supplier performance, improving delivery reliability, and supporting production across an international supply chain.

What You’ll Do

• Act as the main point of contact for a defined group of UK/European suppliers.
• Manage purchase orders, schedules, and changes driven by MRP requirements.
• Drive supplier performance to ensure stable delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
• Lead corrective actions, recovery plans, and issue resolution with suppliers.
• Conduct regular on‑site supplier visits to build relationships and resolve challenges quickly.
• Support industrialisation activities, including First Article Inspection (FAI) through to serial production.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across procurement, engineering, quality, and operations.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial operations.
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP‑driven manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and improve supplier performance.
• Confidence in challenging suppliers and driving corrective action.
• Experience working within a global supply chain and across time zones.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites.

Nice to Have

• Experience within aerospace, defence, or other regulated manufacturing.
• MCIPS or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
