Senior Buying Manager - Food

London – Hybrid Working

£65,000 - £75000 + £6k CA Bonus & Benefits

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Buying Manager to join an established and well-loved food retailer. This is a great opportunity for a commercial and product focused Buyer / Sourcing Manager to join the grocery team, responsible for their private label products with a focus on fresh foods.

You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Buying to deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the department.

As a Senior Buying Manager some of your duties will include.

• Lead your team of Buyers to manage their individual categories
• Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
• Ensuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes.
• Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.
• Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.
• Plan & deliver specific promotions & events within your department
• Attending trade shows / outlets, supplier markets
• Negotiate the best possible contracts & terms.
• Plan & forecast ahead 6/12-month future strategies
• Monitor continual competitor and price analysis to stay ahead
• Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team
• Develop the Buying team to ensure they fulfil their individual career potential.

Key requirements for the role.

• Proven previous experience as a Buying Manager or Sourcing Manager within a food retail environment
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market.
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
• Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.
• Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
