The Opportunity Kindsight Recruitment is supporting the appointment of a Senior Residential Support Worker for a newly opened childrens residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Coventry.

Key Responsibilities Child-Centred Care Provide safe, consistent, and nurturing care to children with EBD

Build positive, trusting relationships with young people

Support emotional regulation, independence, and life skills

Promote routines and structure in line with care plans

Leadership & Staff Support Lead shifts and ensure policies and procedures are followed

Support and mentor Residential Support Workers

Act as a positive role model aligned with organisational values

Engage in training with a clear pathway towards management roles

Safeguarding & Compliance Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in the home

Maintain accurate records, including daily logs and incident reports

Work in line with Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards

Liaise with external professionals such as social workers, education and health services

Household & Operational Duties Support the day-to-day running of the home, including activities and budgeting

Contribute to team meetings and service improvement

Participate in on-call duties where required

Essential Criteria Minimum 2 years experience working with children in a residential care setting (EBD preferred)

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

Experience leading shifts or working in a senior capacity

Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and childrens legislation

Ability to work flexibly, including sleep-ins, evenings, and weekends

Full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience mentoring or supervising staff

Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches

Confidence in report writing, care plans, and multi-agency working
