Senior Civil Engineer

We are working on behalf of a Chartered Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy that is continuing to grow across its South Wales and Southwest offices. Known for delivering innovative, practical and cost-effective engineering solutions, the consultancy supports a broad range of clients across the UK.
With offices in South Wales, Bristol and Bridgend, the business brings together experienced engineers and technicians who provide technical expertise and guidance across the full project lifecycle—from early feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.
The Role
The consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer who can take ownership of projects and lead small project teams to successfully deliver work for an established and loyal client base. You will play a hands-on role in both technical delivery and team leadership, acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across multiple sectors
* Manage and coordinate small teams of engineers and technicians to deliver projects efficiently
* Act as the technical lead and main client interface on allocated schemes
* Oversee project programming, resourcing and delivery to agreed budgets and timescales
* Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to their professional development
* Liaise with architects, contractors and local authorities to ensure smooth project delivery
* Ensure compliance with current design standards, regulations and best practice
About You
* Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
* Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or similar)
* Strong consultancy background within the UK civil engineering sector
* Proven experience running projects and leading small teams
* Sound technical knowledge of infrastructure, drainage and highways design
* Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
* Proficient in industry-standard civil engineering software
