Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are on the lookout for a driven, experienced Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a broad range of challenging projects.

You will be working alongside a newly-established team of infrastructure design experts, based in the picturesque, richly-cultural Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.\n\nBenefits for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to):\n\nHighly-competitive salary\nEmployee Pension Scheme\nGenerous annual leave entitlement\nCommitment to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with extensive career progression opportunities\nAccess to a range of exciting projects\nHaving a hand in influencing the development of the company \n\nResponsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:\n\nContributing to a number of projects and developments, in a design capacity\nOverseeing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, from inception through to completion\nMentoring and supporting colleagues during their time at the company\nLiaising with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors\nPreparing and checking technical documents, such as reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements\nAdhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times\nActing as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, and during other events \n\nRequired skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:\n\nA UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering\nPossess Chartered Status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)\nExperience of working in a design role, within a UK-based consultancy (or Local Authority) setting\nConsiderable experience of working on infrastructure (primarily highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects\nExperience of earthworks and drainage network modelling\nProficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and others)\nConsiderable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents\nDemonstrable experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders\nExcellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills \n\nDesirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:\n\nA UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in an appropriate discipline\nExperience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments\nExperience of preparing Transport Assessments\nExperience of leading projects/teams\nExperience of working in a public-facing role\nHold a full, valid UK driving licence \n\nIf you are interested in the role of Senior Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
