Senior Claims Adjuster

An established insurer is looking to appoint a Senior Claims Adjuster to join its Financial Lines claims team.

This role will have a particular focus on FI and D&O claims, with some PI exposure, and offers the opportunity to join a team handling complex international business in a highly visible, market-facing position.

The FI book is a newer area for the business, so this role will suit someone who enjoys being externally facing, building relationships and acting as a key point of contact across the market. The D&O portfolio is highly international in nature, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is comfortable operating across jurisdictions and working with a wide range of stakeholders. There is also scope for international travel, with trips likely to include locations such as Italy, Greece and potentially Australia.

Key areas of focus will include:

• Managing a portfolio of FI and D&O claims, with some PI exposure
• Handling claims from first notification through to resolution and settlement
• Ensuring claims are managed proactively, efficiently and in line with internal procedures and authority levels
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, customers, co-insurers and external service providers
• Playing a visible, market-facing role, particularly in support of the growing FI portfolio
• Supporting accurate reserving and protecting the business’s financial interests
• Keeping internal systems and claims records fully up to date, including management of workflow through relevant claims platforms
• Working closely with underwriting and other internal stakeholders to ensure a joined-up approach to claims management
• Contributing to claims reviews, reserving work, reinsurance analysis and wider team initiatives
• Providing technical support and guidance to colleagues where required

Requirements:

• Strong Financial Lines claims experience, particularly across FI and/or D&O
• Minimum 7+ years’ insurance claims experience
• London Market claims experience and a solid understanding of the international market
• The ability to manage claims with a proactive, commercially minded approach
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Confidence operating in a client-facing and relationship-led environment
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team
