The Role
Reporting to the Group Head of Claims Operations, the predominant focus of the role is to support the development, production and continuous improvement of Management Information (MI) and reporting across the TFP Claims function. The role will focus on delivering timely, accurate and insightful claims MI and analysis to support operational performance monitoring and decision, claims oversight, control effectiveness, and regulatory and governance requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- In conjunction with the Head of Claims Operations and Claims Management Team, take responsibility for improving reporting and analytics capabilities across Group Claims, working closely with the in‑house data team to ensure the requirements of all areas of the business are met.
- Produce regular and ad‑hoc Claims MI, analytics and reporting covering claim volumes, financial performance, lifecycle stages, leakage indicators, SLAs, KPIs and claims portfolio management.
- Support the development of management dashboards and analytical packs that clearly articulate performance drivers, trends and areas of focus.
- Analyse claims data to identify trends, outliers, root causes and emerging risks, providing insight and commentary rather than purely descriptive reporting.
- Develop analytical views to support deep‑dives into specific claim portfolios, products, Coverholders or operational processes.
- Ongoing review and oversight of the function’s Data and MI, including KPI monitoring, ensuring outputs are timely, accurate, fit for purpose and support the Claims control framework and governance requirements.
- Lead the data quality initiative for the Claims function and participate in cross‑functional working groups to improve data quality across the business.
- Identify root causes of data quality issues and support remediation activities.
- Contribute to improvements in claims data structure, capture and reporting to enable more robust analytics over time.
- Support automation and enhancement of reporting and analytics, reducing manual intervention where possible.
- Support Claims initiatives to improve the Claims Operating Model by reviewing the existing reporting environment, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing changes to drive and monitor operational efficiencies.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insight for Claims stakeholders and a wider audience, requiring strong analytical capability and business judgement.
- Lead meetings and workshops with senior management and stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and collaboratively develop appropriate reporting solutions.
- Provide input on process improvements, demonstrate thought leadership, and show ownership in delivering and evidencing the benefits of improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in a Claims MI, data analysis or analytical reporting role within insurance or financial services
- Advance Excel, Access and Power BI skills (or equivalent tooling)
- Ability to manage multiple analytical tasks and reporting deadlines
- High competency in MS Office applications: Word, Outlook and Adobe Standard required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively and professionally with diverse groups at all levels across the business
- Proven prioritisation and time management skills with accurate results
- Must be a self starter and work effectively both independently and with teams
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage accurate thoughtful detail-oriented work within tight deadlines
