Cloud Architect – Azure Migration Programme
6-Month Initial Contract | Competitive Day Rate | Insurance Industry
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead a strategic on-premises to Microsoft Azure migration programme within a large insurance organisation.
This is a key contract role responsible for defining the target-state Azure architecture, establishing secure enterprise landing zones, and providing technical leadership across the migration lifecycle. The successful candidate will operate at design authority level while remaining hands-on where required.
Key Responsibilities
Define and own the Azure target architecture and migration strategy Design and implement enterprise-scale landing zones Lead workload assessment, migration planning, and wave execution Architect secure, resilient, and compliant cloud solutions Establish governance, security, and regulatory guardrails aligned to insurance industry standards Design hybrid connectivity, networking, and integration Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation best practices
Required Experience
Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Azure migration programmes Strong expertise across Azure networking, compute, storage, , and security Experience in regulated environments (insurance or financial services ) Deep understanding of cloud governance, risk, and compliance frameworks Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform) Ability to operate effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
