Job Title: Senior CNC Machinist / Estimator (Precision Engineering)
Location: Clitheroe
Salary: £30,000 - £38,000
Hours:This is afull-timeposition however for the right candidate we are open to part time options.
The Opportunity:
Are you a time-served Senior CNC Machinist or Estimator from a precision machining background looking to step off the tools and move into a more strategic role?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established precision engineering company where you will transition away from full-time machine running into a key estimating and planning position. You will play a pivotal role in turning customer drawings intoaccuratequotes and fully routed jobs, becoming a crucial technical link between customers and the shop floor.

The Role:
Reading and interpreting detailed technical diagrams and engineering drawings
Evaluating specific jobs and assessing manufacturability
Costing up materials, labour/personnel, machine usage, tooling, and overheads
Accurately estimating the full cost of jobs for customers
Producing competitive and commercially sound quotations
Creating detailed job routings and process plans for production
Purchasing raw materials required for projects
Liaising with customersregardingtechnical queries whererequired
Working closely with production, programming, and quality teams
Identifyingopportunities for cost efficiency and process improvement
Over time, you will have the opportunity to take the technical lead on projects and become the go-to engineer within the business.
Candidate Requirements:
Time-served CNC Machinist (apprenticeship trained / indentured)
Strong background in precision machining / precision engineering
Experience within aerospace, defence, or high-spec general engineering environments
Experience in estimating, costing, quoting, or production planning (orstrong desireto move into this area)
Excellent understanding of machining processes (turning, milling, multi-axisadvantageous)
Ability to work from complex engineering drawings and tight tolerances
Strong commercial awareness
Organised, detail-focused, and confident communicator
