The Opportunity
The Senior Commercial Contract Cleaning Manager is responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of contracted cleaning services across multiple commercial sites. The role provides leadership to a team of 10 Contract / Area / Site Managers, ensuring high service standards, strong client relationships, financial performance, and full compliance with health, safety, and contractual obligations.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead, manage, and develop a team of 10 under-managers with responsibility for multi-site cleaning operations.
* Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and support professional development.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and escalation support for complex staffing or client issues.
* Promote a positive, performance-driven culture across dispersed teams.
* Oversee day-to-day delivery of cleaning services across contracted sites through the management team.
* Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), KPIs, and quality standards.
* Approve and monitor cleaning schedules, staffing levels, and resource allocation.
* Lead regular site audits, inspections, and operational improvement initiatives.
* Support the rollout of new contracts, mobilisations, and service transitions.
* Act as senior point of contact for key clients across the portfolio.
* Support managers in handling complaints, service recovery, and relationship building.
* Monitor contract performance, renewals, variations, and pipeline opportunities.
* Prepare contract reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders.
* Manage contract budgets, labour hours, and cost controls through direct reports.
* Track productivity, efficiency, and profitability across all contracts.
* Approve purchasing of equipment, materials, and subcontractor services.
* Contribute to pricing, tender support, and commercial decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, H&S legislation, and risk assessments.
* Oversee incident reporting, corrective actions, and safe working practices.
* Champion sustainability and environmental cleaning initiatives.
About You
Possess a UK driving license
Reside in the London area or adjacent areas
Extensive experience in senior-level commercial or contract cleaning management.
Proven track record managing large multi-site teams and subordinate managers.
Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management capability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, resourcing, and KPI reporting.
Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent H&S certification. (Desirable)
Facilities management, soft services, or FM sector experience. (Desirable)
Experience using CAFM or workforce management systems (Desirable)
