Senior Commercial Contracts and Procurement SolicitorJob Description:We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Senior Commercial Contracts and Procurement Solicitor, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.Rate of Pay: £292.00 - £395.30 per dayResponsibilities:To assist the Chief Contracts Lawyer in planning, co-ordinating and undertaking the legal work in support of the Councils functions relating to contracts,procurement, economic regeneration, companies and other functions assignedfrom time to time by the Chief Contracts Lawyer.To be responsible for managing and ensuring the development of a ContractsLawyer and to allocate work to that person as appropriate.To undertake a substantial personal caseload of the most complex contract workincluding the provision of legal advice and drafting, negotiation and agreeing ofcomplex documentation for all types of contracts and commercial transactionsand, as required, legal documentation for other transactions.To investigate and give initial advice on contract claims by or against the Councilincluding those arising out of building contracts.To act as a Client Officer in respect of any procurement related legal work whichmay be carried out by an external service provider.Qualifications:Qualified to practice as solicitor or barrister inEngland (or comparable jurisdiction)or FILEX qualificationExperience Required:proven post qualification experience in thecontract area or exceptional experience over ashorter periodSubstantial post qualification experience in the legal professionSkills Required:Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of andability to apply contract law (including buildingcontract law), commercial law, tort and publicprocurement law.Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of contractand procurement practices and processesAbility to draft and negotiate complex contractdocumentationAbility to review and advise on new legislation,case law and other developments and to makeconsequential changes to precedent documentsPlease note:You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.You should have right to work in U.KDisclaimer: Brackenberry Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
