Senior Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E)

Location: Shoreditch, London (office-based with occasional site visits)
Salary: Up to £110,000 + travel (DOE)
Type: Permanent preferred (contract considered with view to perm)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Avolon are partnered with a well-established M&E contractor, specialising in high-quality fit-out projects.

There is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor.

This is a senior, hands-on role overseeing two to three live projects at any one time, typically valued between £3m–£10m, with programme durations of 6–12 months. Projects are predominantly delivered under JCT Design & Build contracts.

The Role:

You will take full commercial responsibility for your projects from pre-construction through to final account, while also managing and developing an Assistant or Trainee QS assigned to support you. This is a key leadership position, with scope to grow and build a larger team beneath you as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities:

* Commercial management of multiple M&E fit-out projects

* Cost planning, procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts

* Contract administration under JCT D&B

* Managing and mentoring assistant/trainee-level staff

* Working closely with operational and project delivery teams

* Ensuring strong commercial control and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

* Strong M&E commercial background (essential)

* Experience operating at Senior QS or Commercial Manager level

* Comfortable running multiple projects concurrently

* Experience with fit-out projects preferred

* Strong contractual and commercial awareness

* Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior team members

Working Arrangements:

This is primarily an office-based role in Shoreditch, with occasional site visits.
Hybrid or remote working is not offered contractually, however flexibility may be considered on a discretionary basis for strong performers who demonstrate reliability and delivery
