Salary: £120,000 – £140,000 + Bonus, Car Allowance, Pension & Healthcare

Location: London / Regional Coverage

Our client is a leading infrastructure and engineering specialist delivering complex projects across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to take ownership of commercial operations across the South of England.


This is a pivotal leadership role focused on the successful delivery of major civil engineering within highly regulated environments, particularly across the water and rail sectors.


The position requires strong NEC contract expertise and would suit an established Commercial Manager looking to take the next step in their career, or an experienced senior professional seeking a new challenge within a growing business.


The Role

  • Lead the commercial management of large-scale NEC3/NEC4 projects across multiple frameworks
  • Administer contracts with precision, managing variations, claims, and dispute resolution
  • Take full responsibility for the financial performance and contractual integrity of regional projects
  • Provide accurate forecasting, cost control, and cash flow management across a diverse portfolio
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial Managers and Quantity Surveyors
  • Oversee procurement strategy, ensuring best value and supply chain performance
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks to protect business interests
  • Strengthen long-term client relationships through professional and transparent commercial practices


The Person

  • Strong NEC3/NEC4 contract experience is essential
  • Proven background within civil engineering, ideally with exposure to water and/or rail sectors
  • Experience working for a contractor in a commercially focused role
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex project environments
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills at senior level
  • Ambitious Commercial Manager ready to step into a senior leadership role, or an experienced Senior Commercial Manager seeking progression
