Overview:
Our customer, a leading global technology organisation is seeking an experienced commercial technology lawyer for a 12-month engagement commencing in April. This role will focus on supporting large-scale cloud contracting and public sector procurement activity across EMEA, working closely with senior commercial, bid and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Cloud Contracting
- Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of complex enterprise cloud agreements, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS arrangements, acting from a supplier perspective.
- Advise on and manage legal risk in large-scale cloud transactions, with particular emphasis on data protection, cybersecurity and intellectual property considerations.
- Support commercial teams through contract amendments, renewals and strategic negotiations with enterprise customers.
Public Procurement & Bid Support
- Provide expert legal guidance on public procurement processes across EMEA, including Competitive Dialogue, negotiated procedures, Framework Agreements, RFPs, ITTs and direct awards.
- Partner with bid teams to shape compliant bid strategies, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risk within tightly regulated procurement frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
- Translate complex and evolving legal issues into practical, business-focused advice for senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Deliver clear, concise guidance to non-legal stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
Workload & Risk Management
- Effectively manage a high-volume, high-value workload involving complex and time-sensitive matters.
- Prioritise competing demands and maintain quality under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Experience & Skills:
- Significant experience negotiating and advising on sophisticated cloud computing contracts within a global technology environment.
- Strong working knowledge of public sector procurement regimes across EMEA.
- Deep understanding of data privacy, security and intellectual property issues in technology transactions.
- Commercially astute, pragmatic and solutions-oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
