Senior Commissioning Engineer - Process / EICA (Water)\n\nSalary:\nUp to £450 per day - Outside IR35\n\nLocation:\nBournemouth\n\nType:\nContract | Site-based\n\nAbout the Role:\nOur client is seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to support the safe and compliant delivery of water projects. Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager, you will take responsibility for wet commissioning, start-up, and process commissioning activities on site.\n\nThis is a hands-on role requiring strong process and EICA knowledge, with responsibility for supervising commissioning staff and subcontractors where required.\n\nAbout the Client:\nOur client is an established integrated design and build provider operating within the UK water sector. They deliver complex infrastructure projects across long-term frameworks and are recognised for their technical capability, collaborative delivery approach, and strong safety culture.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nEnsure safe and compliant wet and process commissioning of water projects\nCarry out wet and process testing in line with training and competence\nSupervise, review, and sign off subcontractor commissioning activities\nProduce and approve RAMS for all commissioning stages\nIdentify, review, and manage commissioning-related project risks\nLiaise with the Design team to ensure commissioning requirements are embedded at design stage\nReview design deliverables including FDS, P&IDs, equipment lists, control philosophy, and telemetry requirements\nProduce or approve Commissioning Plans aligned to design intent\nDevelop and manage Commissioning Programmes\nPrepare and deliver training plans, including supplier-led and on-site training\nChair and minute commissioning and progress meetings\nCompile commissioning documentation, logs, daily diaries, and take-over reports\nSupport O&M and Training Coordinators with manuals and deliverables\nLiaise closely with the wider scheme delivery team, including client representatives, site teams, and subcontractorsWhat Our Client is Looking For:\n\nEssential Experience & Qualifications:\n\nProven water process commissioning experience\nMinimum 5 years' experience in water operations\nStrong practical knowledge of water treatment processes\nRelevant technical qualification (apprenticeship, certificate, diploma, or degree in process control, chemical engineering, or environmental science)\nValid UK driving licence\nCSCS card or SHEA Water Card\nEUSR Water Hygiene CardTechnical Knowledge:\n\nExtensive commissioning experience within water treatment\nStrong understanding of process and EICA systemsBehavioural Competencies:\n\nClear, confident communicator\nStrong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills\nCalm, professional, and solutions-focused\nComfortable working fully site-based\nFlexible to work nights or weekends if requiredWhat Our Client Offers:\n\nContract rate up to £450 per day (Outside IR35)\nLong-term water project pipeline\nWell-defined commissioning scope\nSupportive site and delivery teamsEligibility:\nApplicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold a valid UK driving licence.\n\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and value in our company.
