The Firm


Our client, a top-ranked London law firm, is seeking to strengthen its Risk & Compliance function with the appointment of a Senior Compliance Officer. The firm is widely recognised for its people-first culture, collaborative environment, and commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.


The Opportunity


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Compliance Officer to join a well-established and growing compliance team. This is a broad and hands-on role, offering the chance to play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s regulatory framework.


Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will take ownership of a variety of compliance responsibilities, including:


  • Conducting file audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, with clear reporting and documentation of findings
  • Acting as a key point of contact for compliance-related queries across the firm
  • Managing file reviews, complaint handling, and ensuring all compliance processes remain up to date
  • Supporting and delivering staff inductions, as well as organising ongoing compliance training and update sessions
  • Leading cyber awareness initiatives to promote best practice across the business
  • Handling data protection matters, including subject access requests
  • Maintaining accurate compliance records and reporting data
  • Supervising and supporting junior members of the team

Requirements


  • 5–8 years’ experience within a legal compliance role
  • Strong knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct and personal injury law
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience or understanding of cyber security and data protection
  • Degree educated (preferred but not essential)
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach
