Role Overview An international law firm is seeking a senior conflicts lawyer to join its Risk and General Counsel function. The role is based in London and focuses on advising the business across multiple regions on conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and related ethical and regulatory issues. The role includes supporting senior stakeholders and may involve supervising junior team members. Key Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance on conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and professional‑conduct requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Advise senior lawyers and leadership on complex risk issues. Support decision‑making on high‑risk matters and novel conflict scenarios. Contribute to the development and implementation of risk and compliance processes across the firm. Manage or refine systems, procedures, and knowledge resources relating to conflicts and compliance. Review client‑provided engagement terms, panel appointments, and NDAs, advising on their suitability. Lead or support risk‑related projects and initiatives. Develop and deliver training programmes on conflicts and confidentiality to business teams. Promote a strong risk‑aware culture across the organisation. Mentor and supervise junior team members, supporting their professional development. Contribute to team management and assist senior risk leaders with operational initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
Legally qualified in a recognised jurisdiction, with experience in an international law firm or in‑house risk/regulatory environment. Strong technical ability and confidence in analysing complex legal and factual issues. Sound judgment, ability to make risk‑based decisions, and confidence to elevate where appropriate. High levels of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
