Senior Consultant Quantity Surveyor

Systech have several exciting opportunities available to Senior Quantity Surveyors who are interested in relocating to Australia. The role will be based in our Melbourne office with regional travel occasionally required.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will provide leadership to the commercial team, establishing commercial processes and procedures within client side teams on major infrastructure projects. You will have a proven ability to lead and mentor a team, implementing new procedures and strategies alongside a history in a commercial management position with UK main contractor.

This is a consultancy role and you must therefore be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a client facing environment.

Responsibilities:

Providing commercial support on major construction projects.

Developing relationships and building trust with existing clients.

Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with the contract.

Responsibility for management account preparation and liaison with senior management.

Knowledge of main standard forms of contract including NEC and JCT.

To develop an understanding of claims preparation and dispute avoidance.

Requirements

BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (or similar, a 2:1 or higher preferred).

A Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (preferred).

Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills; an excellent organiser with proven time management skills.

Presentable and articulate.

Have contractor experience working in UK construction.

Minimum 3-5 years of major infrastructure project experience and Tier 1 main contractor experience

Exceptional negotiation and team management skills.

An interest in claims and disputes with experience preferred.

Have a good understanding of the majority of Australian Standard forms of contract (providing examples of work).

Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Australian Visa or UK passport holders preferred (preferable for foreign worker visa requirements).

Excellent IT skills.
