Senior Control System Engineer\n\nNewcastle Upon Tyne\n\nSalary: up to £65,000 basic + benefits\n\nJackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading business focused on offshore wind and renewable energy. They work on next- energy systems, and are looking to bring a Senior Control System Engineer to join their dynamic team.\n\nThis is a permanent, hybrid role based in Newcastle.\n\nSenior Control System Engineer Key Responsibilities:\n\n * Review and assess the status of hardware and software control systems across site facilities and provide annual performance reports.\n\n * Lead the development and implementation of upgrade and obsolescence management plans for PLC and SCADA systems.\n\n * Collaborate with engineering and test teams to design intuitive, user-friendly control systems and operator displays.\n\n * Tailor control systems to meet internal and external customer requirements, ensuring seamless integration with DAQ systems.\n\n * Maintain data integrity, establish test parameters, and configure alarms to support operational reliability.\n\n * Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to enable effective system operation by key personnel.\n\n * Work with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with facility operations and engineering projects.\n\n * Ensure all control systems comply with current engineering standards and best practices.\n\nSenior Control System Engineer Key Requirements:\n\n * Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.\n\n * Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical generating plant systems.\n\n * Proven experience in PLC/SCADA design and development aligned with European standards.\n\n * Advanced knowledge of Functional Safety Systems and risk management frameworks (IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62061).\n\n * Experience integrating instrumentation and data acquisition systems into control environments.\n\n * Familiarity with specialist engineering software within multidisciplinary project environments.\n\n * Experience operating within ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 17025 frameworks.\n\nIf you are interested in this role please get in touch with Eleni using the details below
