We’re now looking for enthusiastic and experienced Control & Automation Engineers to join our Energy team, delivering PLC‑based control and SCADA/DCS systems across the renewable power generation and storage industry.

About the Role

You’ll work across the full project lifecycle — from design and development through to testing, commissioning and customer acceptance. Projects include system upgrades, extensions, improvements and new‑build installations.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing, developing and implementing PLC and SCADA/DCS systems
• Producing FDS/SDS/Test Specifications
• Writing IEC61131 software (Ladder, FBD, SFC, ST)
• Supporting FATs and technical reviews
• Coaching and supporting junior engineers
• Ensuring high‑quality engineering aligned with QA procedures

⭐ What You’ll Bring

Essential:

• 3+ years’ experience with at least one PLC platform (Schneider M580/M340, Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens PCS7, Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix)
• 3+ years’ advanced SCADA configuration (Zenon, PCS7 OS, WinCC, FactoryTalk View SE, Panorama)
• Experience producing engineering documentation and performing FATs
• Ability to review and assure engineering work
• Strong understanding of project lifecycles and QA processes
• Willingness to travel when required
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Renewable power generation control systems
• IEC 61508/61511 safety systems
• Simulation tools (SIMIT, WinMOD, PICS)
• Industrial comms (Profibus/Profinet, Modbus, IEC 60870‑5‑104, IEC 61850, DNP3)
• Legacy PLC/SCADA platforms
• Cyber‑secure system delivery (IEC 62443)
• Virtualisation (VMWare/HyperV), Windows Server, network configuration
