What They Are Looking For

Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to support the commercial delivery of a major hyperscale data centre programme in Europe. The role sits within a high-performing cost management team and reports into senior commercial leadership responsible for the programme. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing cost across large and technically complex work packages.


This position has been created due to continued programme expansion and the increasing scale of hyperscale developments being delivered for a global technology client. The role will involve managing commercial processes across multiple project packages while working closely with project leadership, contractors and client stakeholders.


The successful individual will be a commercially astute professional who thrives in technically demanding environments and enjoys working within collaborative international project teams. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple countries will be key.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cost planning and commercial reporting across major project packages
  • Prepare and review cost plans, estimates and commercial forecasts
  • Support procurement strategy and tender evaluation processes
  • Administer contracts and manage variations across complex work scopes
  • Monitor financial performance through CVRs and commercial reporting
  • Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Work closely with contractors, consultants and client stakeholders
  • Support programme-level cost governance and reporting
  • Contribute to final account negotiations and commercial close-out




Criteria for the Role

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale or technically complex projects
  • Strong commercial management experience within consultancy or contracting environments
  • Experience working on mission-critical, infrastructure or large commercial developments
  • Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement and contract administration
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders within international project teams
  • Professional accreditation (RICS or similar) desirable




What’s On Offer

This role offers a basic salary of £85,000 plus a 20% performance bonus, split between individual and project performance.


The position operates on a 2-week London / 2-week Milan FIFO rotation, with all travel and living expenses covered. This structure allows candidates to gain international project exposure while maintaining a London base.
