Senior Data Engineering Manager - London - £110k

Please note - this is a London based role which will require you to work three days per week in the London office. To be eligible for this role you must be UK based with the unrestricted right to work in the UK - this organisation does not offer sponsorship.

My client is a global organisation operating across multiple regions, with a strong focus on using digital technology and data to improve how the business operates.

The role sits within a central Data & AI function that supports large, distributed teams and complex operational environments. It is an excellent opportunity for a senior technology leader to influence engineering delivery, improve capability, and drive consistency across platforms and teams.

This is a hybrid London‑based role, offering senior‑level responsibility, visibility, and long‑term impact.
\n
My client is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to provide leadership across data and low‑code engineering teams, as well as third‑party delivery partners. You will be responsible for ensuring teams operate effectively, deliver predictably, and build solutions that are robust, supportable, and aligned with organisational standards.
\n
The role focuses on people leadership, delivery assurance, operational stability, and continuous improvement, while maintaining a strong connection to the underlying technology platforms.
\n
Core platforms in scope include Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Azure DevOps.
\n
Key responsibilities will include:
\n
\n
Lead and manage globally distributed engineering teams across data platforms and low‑code solutions
\n
Establish clear ways of working, consistent delivery practices, and strong engineering standards
\n
Ensure effective sprint planning, prioritisation, and predictable delivery across multiple squads
\n
Partner with technology, product, and change teams to align priorities and unblock delivery
\n
Build internal capability through coaching, feedback, and leadership development
\n
Oversee vendor engineering teams, ensuring quality, alignment to standards, and effective outcomes
\n
Ensure stable operations by supporting service transitions and leading Level 2/3 support practices
\n
Drive continuous improvement across tooling, processes, and delivery practices
\n
\n
Required Experience:
\n
\n
Extensive experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams in complex environments
\n
Proven ability to manage multi‑vendor delivery models and mixed internal/external teams
\n
Strong experience establishing effective sprint rhythms and delivery governance
\n
Broad technical understanding across Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Azure DevOps
\n
Experience supporting service transitions and long‑term operational ownership
\n
A track record of maturing engineering functions and scaling teams sustainably
\n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement at senior levels
\n
Relevant Azure or data‑related certifications are desirable but not essential
\n
\n
