Data Inc Location London / Hybrid Engagement Fixed Term Contract or PAYE Contract Sector Financial Services / Wealth Management Role Overview We are seeking a senior, hands‑on Data Mapping Engineer to lead a greenfield data migration mapping initiative for a large‑scale wealth platform transformation. This role sits at the heart of a complex legacy‑to‑modern migration, requiring deep expertise in source‑to‑target data mapping, object modelling, and stakeholder alignment. The target platform is still evolving, making this a role for someone comfortable working where structures, rules, and assumptions must be interpreted and shaped. Key Responsibilities

Lead the definition and documentation of source and target object models and their alignment. Produce clear, developer‑ready mapping specifications for business sign‑off; work closely with business SMEs, data architects, and technology teams to resolve mapping ambiguity. Drive decisions on golden source, structure, and data interpretation. Support defect triage and root cause analysis related to mapping issues. Maintain robust version control and change rationale across mapping artefacts. Lead workshops and facilitate alignment across technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Support ETL development and testing teams by clarifying mapping logic and assumptions.

Required Experience

Proven experience leading data mapping for large‑scale platform migrations. Strong data modelling and object modelling background. Experience working with legacy datasets spanning multiple decades. Comfortable operating where target platforms are still being built or refined. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive decisions. Confident SQL user for data profiling and validation. Wealth management platform experience highly desirable. Avaloq experience advantageous.
