Long-Term Contract (12 Months+) | Banking Transformation Programme | Immediate Interviews

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration Engineer to join a major data transformation programme within a leading banking organisation.

This is a long-term contract opportunity (12 months+) at the centre of a large-scale modernisation initiative. The programme focuses on migrating complex legacy data platforms into secure, scalable, cloud-based environments, enabling high-quality, data-driven decision-making across the business.

You will play a key role in delivering robust, well-governed migration solutions within a regulated environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead end-to-end data migration activities from discovery and analysis through to build, validation, and deployment.
  • Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across on-premise and Azure-based platforms.
  • Perform detailed source-to-target data mapping, defining transformation rules, derivations, and reconciliation logic.
  • Analyse complex legacy datasets where documentation may be limited.
  • Conduct comprehensive data profiling and support data quality remediation.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear, structured technical specifications.
  • Develop, optimise, and troubleshoot advanced SQL solutions.
  • Contribute to data warehouse and analytics platform design and enhancement.
  • Support CI/CD implementation and automated testing practices within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical and mapping documentation.

About you

We recognise that exceptional candidates bring diverse experience — if this role excites you, we encourage you to apply.

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale data migration programmes, ideally within financial services or other regulated environments.
  • Deep expertise across the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, T-SQL) and modern Azure data services.
  • Strong Azure engineering capability including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, Fabric and Power BI.
  • Advanced SQL skills (T-SQL and/or PL/SQL).
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, dimensional modelling and BI principles.
  • Experience working within Agile environments with exposure to DevOps and automated deployment practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.

Nice to have:

  • Experience integrating with or migrating data to Salesforce or other similar CRMs
  • Exposure to or experience in data architecture and solution design, including data modelling and platform design decisions.

Why join?

  • Long-term contract engagement (12 months+) with strong programme continuity.
  • Work on a high-profile banking data transformation initiative.
  • Tackle complex, enterprise-scale migration challenges.
  • Collaborate with experienced data and technology professionals.
  • Immediate shortlisting and interview availability.
